Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore

Not much is known about the past of Albus Dumbledore. What is known is that he in fact did grown up in Godric's Hallow, the same village in which the Potter family lived. He grew up with his father, mother Kendra , younger brother Aberforth, and younger sister Ariana. There is a darkness that surrounds the Dumbledore Family, with the imprisonment of Albus's father in Azkaban, to the death of Kendra, and the tragic death of Ariana, which happened during a duel between Albus, Aberforth, and the dark wizard Grindelwald. 


Grindelwald played an important role in Albus's life. They were very close friends and hung out a lot. Aberforth never took a liking to Grindlewald and maybe saw the truth in what he was planning when it came to the Deathly Hallows. Dumbledore and Grindelwald devised a plan of finding the Hallows for the "greater good". What was meant by that statement will never be known, but the fact that Albus did have to fight and defeat Grindelwald implies that what Grindelwald was looking for was far from good. 



Albus Dumbledore had a very successful life and accomplished many things, even before Harry became such an important factor. Albus was always the only wizard that Lord Voldemort ever feared, and that never changed.

Tom Marvolo Riddle

Tom Riddle, was named after his father and his grandfather, both of whom he never met (if you exclude the time he killed them). Toms mother was Merope Gaunt (daughter of Marvolo Gaunt) she was unconditionally in love with the muggle that lived in her village, Tom Riddle. Unfortunately Tom was scared off when he discovered Merope was a witch. Merope was blinded by her love and gave Tom a love potion and eventually became pregnant. Eventually Merope came to her senses and took Tom off the potion, and gave birth to her son. Merope was so depressed she gave her son away to an orphanage, naming him Tom Marvolo Riddle, and died. 

Tom had a hard time growing up in the orphanage, knowing that he was different and using his special skills to his ability. He didn't have many friends and often got in trouble when he used his skills to harm other kids, or steal from them. When he was 11 he as visited by Albus Dumbledore, who informed Tom that he was a wizard and that he was going to be attending Hogwarts. Tom then took charge of his life and became a responsible independent student and man. He was vary handsome and had extremely good grades throughout his years in school. Unfortunately Tom discovered some dark ties that he had to the school, including the chamber of secrets, where he let his giant basilisk that actually killed a girl. During school he started to form his group of "friends" also known as death eaters and learned about Horcruxes. 


After Graduating he applied for the defense of the dark arts job at Hogwarts, which was denied by the new headmaster Albus Dumbledore. From that point on Tom changed his name to Lord Voldemort (Tom Marvolo Riddle: I Am Lord Voldemort) and was then feared by the wizarding community because of his violence and hatred for muggles and especially wizards who's parents where both muggles ("mudblood"). Voldemort (or as the wizarding community referred to him as "He Who Must Not Be Named, or You Know Who) was set on creating a wizarding world that was only full of full blooded wizards, which is ironic because Voldemort is in fact a half blooded wizard.

Voldemort's downfall started when he decided to kill the one year old Harry James Potter, this mission backfired and not only did Voldemort fail in killing young Harry, but also destroyed himself, thus created the forever famous "Boy Who Lived".
